PPMFC

Prestbury Park Model Flying Club

14th January 2019

Notice To All Members

All long standing members will know that the ethos of the PPMFC is that anyone and all types of flying models are made welcome.

Due to the constraints of the site there are "no fly zones" which are clearly defined on your Yellow card, issued to all members.

There has been a large proliferation in the ownership of Quads / Drones and in keeping with our club policies it was decided to allow these aircraft types to fly at the site.

It has come to the Committee members' attention that the club rules are being regularly disregarded and the following incidents have been observed:

·     Quads have been flown around cars in the car park when someone has been in the car.

·     A car was followed down the track almost to the gate by a Quad.

·     Quads regularly fly from behind the pits, through the trees and directly over member's heads.

·     Quads regularly fly down paths in use by dog walkers and others, out of site of the pilot. (these are the field access tracks around the outside of the crops)

·     Flying from the pits without spotters has become the norm when it's quiet.

These actions are in direct contravention of BMFA guidelines governing the use of this type of flying machine and could render your insurance invalid.

Please be aware that such disregard for the club safety rules and the safety of members and the general public will not be tolerated.

Anyone observed transgressing will be deemed to have been given a verbal warning and to have initiated the club's disciplinary procedure.

THREE TAGS AND YOU ARE OUT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

There is no objection to members constructing obstacle courses and/or hoops in the flying zones not used as runways, to provide a safe alternative. These must be all removed after each use, to facilitate the mowing.

If you need any further clarification regarding this notification, contact your preferred committee member.
