PPMFC

Former club secretary

Chris had the unenviable task of taking the minutes at club meetings and going on to produce the two versions that you will see on this website under the “Club meetings” and “Members only” sections.

He is a demon builder and has produced some absolutely stunning models. A number of his designs have appeared in the pages of RCM & E.

In his own words:

Club Secretary off and on (mainly on) since 2000 – about 10 years’ worth.  My duties are to maintain a written record of Club activities and regulation, and to work with the other Committee members to promote harmonious and safe flying.  I also hold the Club’s BMFA CRB certificate as welfare officer.

I’ve been an aeromodeller for 60 years, and my first job in 1959 was in the design department of International Model Aircraft Ltd (Frog models).  I returned to aeromodelling via the PPMFC in 1999, after a 35 year break for RAF service.

I build mainly traditional scratch built models, usually sports or scale, IC or electric.  My preference is to do my own designs (OD).  These are not always successful, but I have managed to have some designs published which have paid for the bulk of my collection.  My fairly limited flying ability, and Scottish budgetary restraint, preclude excursions into more exotic modelling.

Models in stock:

OD.:

Funtoom, BN2  Islander,  DH60 Cirrus Moth, Parkfly, Scottish Aviation Pioneer, Triple Threat II, Fairey Hendon,  Funterceptor, Agritug, Slopewot,  Earlybird.

Others:
